Alex Norman is a folk singer-songwriter from Richmond, Virginia. She currently plays at coffee shops, restaurants, and breweries around Richmond and Charlottesville. Alex is the Round 6 and Round 10 winner of Ashland Coffee & Tea’s “Songwriter Shootout,” and she was also a finalist in Rapunzel’s Coffee & Books annual songwriting competition. In 2013 she was featured at the State Fair of Virginia and played there again in 2014.

I’ve found there to be both an exciting art and adventure to playing music. From open mics to gigs to competitions, from coffee shops to pubs to restaurants to breweries–I have come across many welcoming music communities. For these reasons, I feel compelled to document my explorations and share with you the places that have welcomed me.
